MESA Solutions, a subsidiary of Telcordia Technologies, has announced its selection by Jackson Electric Membership Corporation (EMC) in Georgia, the nation’s second largest electric cooperative, to deliver an integrated geospatial network management solution. Jackson EMC will replace its legacy GIS with Miner & Miner’s ArcFM solution, a scalable platform for distributing geospatial data across the enterprise to facilitate the design, construction, operations, and maintenance of its electrical distribution network.
MESA, a reseller and systems integration provider for Miner & Miner, will serve as prime contractor for the implementation of ArcFM, Designer, ArcFM Viewer, and ESRI’s ArcPAD, and ArcIMS applications. Additional services include integration of Jackson EMC’s supporting systems, data modeling, custom application development, product training, and subsequent support and maintenance.
Through efficient capture, design, analysis, and access of network asset information, ArcFM will help to enable Jackson EMC to achieve greater customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. Utilizing a common repository for all asset information, the ArcFM solution provides an integrated platform to support planning, job cost estimates, work order management, and engineering analysis. Work order processing improvements may be seen with the integration of Designer and Jackson EMC’s ERP system.
Jackson EMC, located in Jefferson, GA, distributes power to more than 170,000 customers in the northeast Georgia area.
