ESRI has announced its founder and president Jack Dangermond has received the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) Exceptional Partner Award at the association’s annual meeting held in Boston, Massachusetts. The purpose of the award is to recognize individuals whose efforts have made a major, positive contribution to the practice of local governmental public health. ESRI has been working with NACCHO for eight years in many different areas including responding to emergency requests from NACCHO members for GIS software, sponsoring GIS educational events, supporting software grant programs for small and rural health jurisdictions, and collaborating on the current public health profile study survey. NACCHO is the national organization representing the nation’s nearly 3,000 local public health departments in US.
