India: The Indian Space Research Organization is holding a two-meeting to demonstrate how the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS), once operational by July 2016, will be significantly more accurate than the United States’ GPS system. The meeting is to be attended by senior scientists from Space Application Centre Ahmedabad, location and navigation device manufacturers, mobile phone manufacturers and global information system (GIS) technology developers. All the seven satellites of IRNSS are expected to be in orbit by March 2016.
