Intermap gets 2.2M USD mapping contracts for Tsunami preparedness

Denver, USA, 11 June 2007: Intermap Technologies Corp. has been awarded four contracts valued at $2.2 million for radar mapping in Southeast Asia. Under the agreement, the company will collect and deliver 3D digital elevation data and orthorectified radar imagery utilizing the Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (IFSAR) technology.

IFSAR is a radar technology capable of producing products with vertical accuracies of 30 centimeters. IFSAR provides cloud penetration, day/night operation, wide-area coverage, and full digital processing.

The data will be collected,processed and delivered bythe first quarter of 2008. The digital elevation models (DEMs) in this region will allow the Company’s clients to formulate strategies to assist in the decision-making needs to mitigate tsunami and geohazard effects in this island-rich region. Another client will utilize the data to assist in seismic planning and advanced energy exploration without disturbing the environment.
