Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions, in collaboration with the Association of Geographic Information Laboratories for Europe (AGILE), has announced a GeoMedia research grant opportunity for AGILE members. The grant is open to any member using or intending to use Intergraph’s GeoMedia technology as the foundation for geographic information systems (GIS) research. The GeoMedia research grant will award $5,000 (U.S.) cash funding and a $50,000 software donation in recognition of an exceptional and innovative applied research proposal submitted by an AGILE member in an effort to further the implementation and evolution of GIS.
“As a long term partner of Intergraph, we are pleased to have this opportunity to continue the ongoing efforts of our organization in supporting the advancement of innovative GIS research and teaching and ensuring the recognition of academic excellence,” said Mauro Salvemini, Chairman, AGILE. “The GeoMedia Research Grant Program supplies essential tools for undertaking GIS research projects and fulfills both academic and community GIS training needs. We thank Intergraph for making this generous donation possible.”
The grant recipient will be announced at the organization’s sixth annual Conference on Geographic Information Science to be held April 24-26 in Lyon, France. Established to promote innovative geographic information science research at the European level, AGILE includes members based in academic institutions and in other key geographic information research centers.
