Integrated Defense Technologies Subsidiary, Metric Systems, awarded $7.8M contract by U.S. Navy China Lake, California

Integrated Defense Technologies Inc.’s, subsidiary, Metric Systems, has been awarded a $7.8 Million modification to an indefinite- delivery and indefinite-quantity contract. This contract, with the Sustainment Management Office at USN China Lake, Calif., is for diagnosis, repair, and engineering support of Global Positioning System (GPS) based range instrumentation equipment located at numerous DoD test and evaluation sites and training ranges. Metric Systems will conduct a proof of concept project referred to as the Fighter Air C2 Enhancement (FACE) project. This project will use a modified Metric Systems Airborne Instrumentation Pod to relay positional data and aircraft weapons bus information via a global satellite system to an Air Operations Center (AOC), providing real-time situational awareness. Also included are upgrading the GPS range system at White Sands Missile Range, N.M., and enhancing the range coverage area used by Eglin AFB, Fla., along Florida’s Gulf Coast. This expansion will be extremely important as the US Navy begins test and training operations in the Gulf, and reduces dependence on live-fire exercises on Vieques, PR.
