USA, 17 May 2007: Australia’s Special Minister of State, The Honourable Gary Nairn MP heard how Integeo’s spatial business intelligence is helping the US Army’s recruitment drive. The Minister attended a special briefing by US Army Recruiting (USAR) and Integeo personnel at Integeo’s R&D centre in Sydney, Australia.
Integeo’s Map Intelligence geospatial decision support solution has been rolled out to 4,400 users in more than 1,600 US Army and National Guard recruitment offices across the United States.
Map Intelligence, a software for geographic analysis enables the fast development of dynamic, browser based mapping enabled applications without the need for programming skills.
United States Army Recruiting (USAR), based in Fort Knox, Kentucky, uses Map Intelligence to underpin its Graphical Accessions Mapping Analysis Tool (GAMAT), which tracks the progress of recruits from first contact through boot camp.
USAR is responsible for recruiting around 80,000 soldiers a year across the nation. To be considered successful, a candidate has to graduate from boot camp to first assignment.
The Map Intelligence solution replaces previously manual methods of analyzing recruitment information by location and allows Recruiting Station Commanders to email maps with full Map Intelligence functionality to all levels of command for faster decision making.
“US Army Recruiting demonstrated that Map Intelligence was a breakthrough product in providing real-time data about recruits in a visual format that simply has not been available before,” Minister Nairn said. He added, “I am proud to see an Australian-developed system in use by the world’s largest Defense force and I see many other useful applications of this technology within my e-government portfolio.”
