Russia, 15 February 2007 – ScanEx Image Processor v.2.0 software package in basic configuration with add-on multispectral imagery classification and thematic interpretation module has been purchased by the Institute of Forest Science of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Different functions of this software package can be used for remote sensing data processing for scientific projects of the Institute in order to monitor the wildlife sanctuaries, to analyze forest decline areas and logging dynamics in the bark beetle outbreak areas, to analyze the structure and dynamics of mires and to resolve forest regeneration tasks.
The basic configuration of the program enables the users to do export/import and visualization of raster data, remotely-sensed data geometric correction, orthorectification and automatic raster co-registration, spatial resolution enhancement (Image Fusion), creation of image mosaics, haze compensation. In addition to that, the basic configuration allows for arithmetic operations with raster layers (e.g. NDVI computations), change detection analysis, automatic vectorization of the results and many more.
Using the module of multispectral imagery classification and thematic interpretation, one can do the segmentation of multi-band data, thematic calibration and interpretation of the segmentation results, thematic classes merge and vectorization.
