Mangalore, India: The Department of Survey Settlement and Land Records, Mangalore has taken up the implementation of Urban Property Ownership Records (UPOR) project in 32 villages under the Mangalore Urban Development Authority. Infotech Enterprises Ltd, Hyderabad is carrying out the survey work in Mangalore.
At present, Infotech has put in place 10 teams to work on the project and the number will be increased after monsoon when the actual survey work will commence. The department will use the interim period to collect existing property documents from property owners in these villages.
N Yogish Bhat, deputy speaker, urged the people to cooperate with the surveyors and other officials in charge of the project as and when they come for the survey and other related processes. An estimated two lakh properties need to be surveyed and mapped in the 32 villages. A spatial and non-spatial database will be created as part of the project and the ownership of property is decided by enquiry officers of the department.
