Mobile users in India will soon enjoy value-added services such as city navigation tips, envisaged under a joint venture between CE Info System Pvt Ltd in India and Switzerland-based Novasys SA. CE Info System, a GIS service provider, and Novasys, a location based services company, have announced this week that they would provide the service that would allow mobile users to find their way while driving anywhere in India or while travelling abroad.
As per the agreement, Novasys will be providing the technology platform for these services, while CE Info will provide first class mapping and points of interest (PoI) content. Both the companies will work closely with mobile telecom operators in India in order to provide the innovative location based services. Meanwhile CE Info also announced the launch of eLocation, a location based service through its internet portal www.mapmyindia.com, which will allow others to know where you are located and how to reach your location.
