Just with the click of a mouse, information will be available to the babus to take decisions as the J-K government has signed a MoU of over Rs 7 crore with the Department of Space to start mapping of different districts of the state. Once the mapping is over, computers at the offices will reel out all information about the district.
Earlier, the project was started in Jammu on experimental basis and owing to its success, it would now be replicated in other districts, sources said. Sources added that the mapping of natural resources of the district would be done which would help the officials in fixing their priorities as well. As per the memorandum, the state would compile both the satellite and the ground data, which would be stored in computers and serve as the ready reference for the officials.
