India’s ‘Moon Man’ bags Padma Shri

India: Indian Space Research Organization’s ‘Moon Man’, M Annadurai, has been conferred with the Padma Shri, a major civilian award in India. Annadurai is not only the brains behind India’s moon mission, Chandrayaan – 1, he has also realized the successful Mars Orbiter Mission in record time. The scientist is currently serving as the Director of ISRO Satellite Centre (ISAC) in Bengaluru.

Speaking to the media, he said, “This is an award for Team ISRO. From Insat to Chandrayaan and MOM (mars orbiter mission), this is an achievement of the entire team and I am proud to be among such wonderful people.”
