Tamil Nadu: Soon, power consumers will not have to run from pillar to post to get their electricity-related grievances addressed. The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) will be setting up a customer care centre in the coming months. The Tangedco is creating a database of mobile phone numbers of customers and GIS mapping of transformers and sub-stations in the State. “Once this is done, we will map consumers in accordance with the sub-stations and transformers. Nearly 80% of the work is complete,” said a Tangedco official.
Once the database is created, the corporation can run the customer care centre efficiently. “If a consumer calls us, we will know from which area he is calling and can immediately send the staff. This will make for quicker redressal,” said the official.
