Indian state partially commissions remote-controlled power distribution

India: The Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (Tangedco) has partially commissioned the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, which facilitates the control and monitoring of the power distribution in a centralised locality. The project, which is part of the Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Programme (R-APDRP), is aimed at increasing the efficiency of power supply to the consumers by reducing reaction time on attending the faults. It is aimed at distribution of quality power, faster identification of faults, and early restoration.
