India: The 22nd User Interaction Meet of the Indian Space Research Organization’s National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) has opened in Hyderabad today. With 300 people in attendance and hundreds more watching the live Webcast, the Meet is aimed to share experiences amongst geospatial user community. Delivering the welcome address, NRSC Director Dr V K Dadhwal pointed out that this User Meet will also act as a catalyst for the earth observation-based projects that ISRO has undertaken for the Central Government.
Dr. S. Arunan, who has recently been appointed the Director of ISRO’s Earth Observation Systems and Special Projects also addressed the guests. The other speakers in the inaugural session included the secretary of Maharashtra’s Water Resources Department, S. M. Upase; Railway Board’s Dr. B.P. Avasthi; and Rajasthan Department of Science and Technology’s Principal Secretary Ravi Shankar Srivastava.
ISRO Chairman A.S. Kiran Kumar is expected to deliver a keynote address later today.
