Physical Research Laboratory (PRL) in Ahmedabad, India has felicitated eight distinguished Indian scientists for their contribution to science and society. Amongst these distinguished scientists, four scientists have made significant contributions in the field of geospatial science.
Dr. P Sreekumar, of ISRO Bangalore was honored for his extensive study of X-ray binary stars and development of satellite payload systems for astronomical observation. Tapan Mishra, of Space Application Centre, Ahmedabad, received the award for his contribution to microwave remote sensing application while Dr. Y N Krishnamurthy, of ISRO Nagpur, received the honor for his contribution to remote sensing programme. M Annadurai, of ISRO Bangalore, was recognized for his contribution to the field of space craft mission management. The awards consist of a medal and a cash prize of Rs 25,000.
