Indian poll booths to be accessible on Google Maps

Lucknow, India: Now, Indian voters who are unsure about the location of their polling booths can refer to Google Maps for help. The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of the poll-bound state in India, Uttar Pradesh (UP), has started a Google map-enabled search engine with which voters can find out the name and location of their polling station.

In an interview to an Indian daily, the UP CEO said, “This is a GIS-based initiative which will come in handy for those people who are new to a region. You can search for your name on the photo electoral roll; the location of the polling booth will also show up.”
