‘Indian geospatial park project in advance stage’

Gandhinagar, India: India’s first geospatial park project recently announced by Gujarat State’s Chief Minister Narendra Modi is in an advanced stage of completion, according to Ravi Saxena, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), state science and technology department. He said, “The aim of this park will be to provide all kind of possible support like attractive infrastructural facilities, tech support etc. The project is expected to take shape in a short time.’’
Saxena stated, “The number of private companies using geospatial technology in India is increasing rapidly and the companies providing geospatial technology are also increasing, but these companies are scattered across the country. Also they do not get much state support. So our idea is to attract these companies. State-owned Bhaskaracharya Institute for Space Applications and Geoinformatics (BISAG) will act as nodal agency in developing this park.’’
