India: In a bid to bring transparency in water supply distributed through water container trucks in the city of Nagpur, the Nagpur Municipal Coporation and Orange City Water (OCW) have installed GPS devices on such trucks. The civic body has fitted GPS devices on 284 hired trucks that make about 6 trips each per day in the city. Due to this, water theft and bogus trips has come down.

"Every truck fitted with GPS system is sending real-time information about its location to the server. The entire cycle of water delivery from receiving request to delivery is being monitored," said a spokesperson from OCW.
