Independent assessment of ACRES orthocorrected products

Independent assessment of ACRES orthocorrected products

SHARE

The South Australian Department for Environment and Heritage has recently conducted an independent accuracy assessment on ACRES Landsat 7 orthocorrected imagery. The Western Australian Department of Land Administration has also conducted two relative accuracy assessments on ACRES Landsat 7 orthocorrected imagery in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. The assessment results to date indicate that:

1) The absolute geometric accuracy of the orthocorrected imagery is significantly improved (RMS errors was + 13 metres).

2) Sub-pixel registration of multi-temporal Landsat ETM+ products is achievable with the use of Supplemental Control Points (SCPs) in orthocorrected product generation.
