Tunisia: IGN France International and the Tunisian Office of Topography and Cadastre (OTC) signed a partnership agreement on July 5. This agreement aims to enhance the position of IGN France International on the growing market of geographic information in Tunisia and more generally speaking in the neighborhood.
In the past few years, IGN France International led several projects in Tunisia. Among others, could be mentioned the delivery of a photographic aircraft for the Tunisian Ministry of Defence in 2011 and in 2010, the completion in close cooperation with the French Ministry of the Economy, the Finances and Industry of a Land Information System. The goal of this project was to have a modern, efficient, common tool disposer for the management of land titles that integrated a geographic component. Tunisia also wanted a digital cadastral referential for the land information and to implement an open architecture for the different organisations involved in the territory’s data management.
The signature of the partnership agreement between IGN France International and OTC intervened at the occasion of the official French delegation in Tunisia, on July 4th and 5th.
This official visit that brought together general managers from various major French companies as well as French and Tunisian ministers in charge of the economic development, aimed to focus on the existing growth opportunities in Tunisia and on the development of the digital economy in the country.
