IGM Chile launches geoportal

Chile: The Military Geographical Institute (IGM) of Chile launched its geoportal which aims to provide all information related to mapping activities to public. It allows the use of GIS, which is a key element of the Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI). Now, citizens can access all mapping information by visiting the portal, www.geoportaligm.gob.ec.

The IGM geoportal further provides services such as display of maps, data and metadata catalogue, educational resources and technical articles. It provides Integrated Development Environment (IDE), which is a set of policies, laws, regulations, standards, organizations, plans, programmes, projects, human, technological and financial, built to facilitate the production, access and use of geo regional, national or local level to supporting the social, economic and environmental people.
