November 15, 2002–MapInfo Corporation (Nasdaq: MAPS) today announced MapInfo User Week 2002, which will take place November 15-20 at the Paradise Point Resort, San Diego, California. Hundreds of industry professionals and MapInfo experts from around the world will participate in educational sessions and networking events to learn how MapInfo’s location technology can enhance decision-making and improve bottom
line results. The theme of this year’s conference is “Insightful Decisions With Impact.”
Mark Tolliver, Chief Strategy Officer and EVP of Marketing & Business Development at Sun Microsystems, will deliver the keynote address. At Sun, Tolliver ensures the delivery of compelling customer and partner solutions. He has more than 25 years of experience in the high-tech industry and has been with Sun for eight years. In his keynote, which will take place on Monday, November 18 at 8:30 a.m., Tolliver will discuss the benefits of Sun ONE for MapInfo customers and partners, and a new Sun project called Liberty Alliance.
The first half of MapInfo User Week, November 15-17, will be dedicated to the Worldwide Partner Conference. MapInfo announced an expansion of its global partner, developer and alliance programs six months ago, providing a greater emphasis on vertical markets such as public sector, communications and insurance. During the Worldwide Partner Conference, partners will be able to speak with MapInfo executives and talk to other users about how they have solved their toughest problems and improved decision-making using MapInfo technology. They will be able to hear firsthand how they can work closely with MapInfo’s three business units–location-based intelligence (LBI), analytical customer relationship management (aCRM) and location-based services (LBS),
and develop critical go-to-market opportunities that result in revenue-generating, innovative applications and world-class solutions.
