US: Hexagon Geospatial has announced that it has partnered with Skybox Imaging to provide imagery and data processing through ERDAS IMAGINE 2014 to support Skybox Imaging’s constellation of earth imaging satellites.
Through the agreement, users will be able to easily process and analyse images collected with SkySat-1, the first commercial earth observation microsatellite from Skybox Imaging that was launched in November 2013. The company is producing and launching a series of microsatellites that deliver high-resolution imagery and video for commercial companies that need to monitor ongoing change detection. Skybox Imaging is planning on launching a constellation of 24 satellites that will provide sub-meter imagery and full-motion video. ERDAS IMAGINE 2014 added support for SkySat-1. Users can refine the geo-referencing using either a sensor model or a Rational Polynomial co-efficient (RPC) model.
