HERE Technologies has been named as the world’s number one location platform for the third successive year by Counterpoint Research. The Netherlands-based company was placed at the top spot after comparing the 25 leading location platform vendors in capabilities and execution, which included Google, TomTom and Mapbox.
Counterpoint Research vice president Neil Shah said, “HERE continues to emerge as the world’s leading and most comprehensive location platform in our evaluation. Over the last eighteen months HERE has widened its lead compared to the competition, developing end-to-end capabilities, a broader and deeper portfolio of offerings, a string of partnerships and a large number of customer wins.”

The report by Counterpoint Research, evaluates the top 25 maps and location platform players, in six categories. HERE Technologies topped the pack in all categories and in over 40 criteria which include Indoor Maps, Developer Ecosystem, Geo-Coding, ADAS/HD Maps, Tracking & Positioning, Traffic, Openness, Marketplace, among others.
