Harris Corporation teams with BAE SYSTEMS and T-Kartor to pursue multi-national geospatial co-production programme

Florida, USA, 28 June 2006: Harris Corporation has announced that it has teamed exclusively with BAE SYSTEMS ADR of Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, and T-Kartor Sweden AB, of Kristianstad, Sweden, to pursue the Nordic Initiative of the Multi-national Geospatial Co-Production Programme (MGCP).

Formed in 2003, the MGCP consists of 28 member nations working to bolster cooperative production and coordination of high-resolution digital vector data in high-interest regions where adequate data is not currently available. The Nordic Initiative represents the interests of Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland to produce more than 600 cells of geospatial data to MGCP specifications.

Harris, BAE SYSTEMS ADR, and T-Kartor Sweden AB are teaming to supply geospatial information and database processing services. In-country support would be provided by T-Kartor through its Oslo, Norway, office to support activities with the Norwegian Ministry of Defence — the agency overseeing the Nordic Initiative’s procurement responsibilities. The multi-year MGCP program is scheduled to conclude in December 2011.
