GWF2014: AGI hosts India Geospatial Summit at Geneva

Dr. Shailesh Nayak, Secretary Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of IndiaSwitzerland: During the recently-concluded Geospatial World Forum 2014, Association of Geospatial Industries (AGI), an association of geospatial companies in India, hosted one day India Geospatial Summit on 7 May 2014. Delivering his keynote address at the Summit, Rajesh Mathur, President, AGI highlighted that the Indian geospatial industry has moved up the value chain over the years.

The Association had led a delegation of Indian geospatial companies including representatives from companies such as ADCC Infocad, IIC Technologies, Infotech Enterprises, NIIT-GIS, and Tricad Design Consultants to participate as well as exhibit at Geospatial World Forum 2014.

The Indian Ambassador to Switzerland, MK Lokesh, delivering his inaugural address , commended the efforts of AGI for bringing together the Indian geospatial industry as a cohesive unit and showcasing its value, competencies and capabilities to the global market that include Europe, Middle East, Africa, US and BRIC countries.Rajesh Mathur, President, AGI highlighted that  the Indian geospatial industry has moved up the value chain over the years.

Adding to the view, Dr. Shailesh Nayak, Secretary Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India in his valedictory address spoke about the expertise of Indian geospatial industry and how government of India has leveraged this industry expertise in delivering world class citizen services.

Further, at the co-located exhibition, the AGI India pavilion exhibited the unified strength of the Indian geospatial industry with companies such as ADCC Infocad, IIC Technologies, Infotech Enterprises, NIIT-GIS, and Tricad Design Consultants by highlighting a wide array of products to the global diaspora.
