Government vehicles in China’s Guangzhou city will have GPS to curb misuse and reduce unnecessary expenditure, according to Su Zhijia, secretary of the City Commission for Discipline Inspection. A satellite positioning terminal will be installed on each official vehicle.
Su Zhijia said that through GPS a government car’s position can be checked at any time and would show on the map. The vehicle’s travel route could also be tracked on the map. If a car enters a forbidden area, the system will immediately report it.
