Australia: Google has revealed its secret drone project by successfully testing its prototype aerial vehicle in remote farms in Queensland.

The Australian test flight marks the culmination of the first phase of Project Wing, a secret drone program that has been running for two years at Google X research lab.

Project Wing's aircraft have a wingspan of approximately 1.5m and have four electrically-driven propellers, weighing around 22lb.

The search giant has recently released a video on YouTube that shows Australian farmers ordering dog food:

Google said that its long-range goal was to develop drones that could be used for disaster relief by delivering aid to isolated areas.

Astro Teller, Captain of Moonshots – Google X's name for big-thinking projects, said," "Even just a few of these, being able to shuttle nearly continuously could service a very large number of people in an emergency situation."
