GlobeTrac Inc. announced the commencement of its European operations from its headquarters in London. GlobeTrac markets a complete end-to-end wireless solution for fleet management with products that utilize GSM/GPRS wireless networks. It enables a wide range of Internet-based wireless fleet management solutions including, vehicle tracking with two-way communications, geo-fencing and telematics applications. Location is determined by GPS with data transmitted back and forth to base via GPRS rather than the more expensive SMS.
The Company’s decision to headquarter its operations in London and to launch its service throughout Europe was largely based on the proliferation of high quality and mature GPRS wireless networks with coverage of over 90% throughout Europe, and the density of the potential transportation clients. Great Britain alone accounted for 422,000 heavy goods vehicles over 3.5 tons in 2001.
GlobeTrac has expanded its sales and marketing operations team with the addition of Mike Crompton and Ian Seccombe. Mr. Crompton and Mr. Seccombe have extensive experience in both the wireless telecommunications and transport industries. The company is very pleased to add such high caliber managers to head up its European operation.
