Maryland, USA, 1 April 2006: Global Imaging Technologies, a developer of imaging systems and related technologies has launched a group of digital sensors series, named Eagle Eye that collects the full visible spectrum with an optional NIR (near infrared) configuration. The series also has optional embedded IMU to allow autonomous post processing. The sensor outputs RGB imagery at ground resolutions of better than 2 centimeters. During collection, Eagle Eye is designed to receive data from an onboard GPS system. This data is integrated in real-time with the image data. The system also has embedded computer hardware within the (35cmW x 50cmD x 15cmH) sensor. There is no addition space or power needed for bulky computer racks.

The Eagle Eye series was designed using aerospace technologies. It incorporates a high-impact, carbon fiber exterior that reduces weight while adding strength.
