SHARE

The GIS for Oil & Gas Conference is the only event of its kind, drawing together professionals from the GIS (geographic information system) and oil and gas industries for two and a half days of seminars, workshops, and an exhibition.

First-time attendees totaled 212, a 19% increase over the number of first-time attendees in the year 2000. (Last year’s GIS for Oil & Gas Conference was cancelled soon after the September 11 terrorist attacks.) Total paid registrations for the 2002 conference increased by 20% over paid registrations in the year 2000.

The number of conference attendees who are also GITA members increased by 32%.
Attendance from vendors increased almost 30% from the year 2000, and the exhibition floor came within only two booth spaces of selling out completely.
