The Office of Hawaiian Affairs has recently announced the publication of the 2006 Native Hawaiian Data Book, a 200-plus page resource highlighting data and statistics relative to the Native Hawaiian community. In this book GIS maps of islands/counties indicate areas of Hawaiian concentration as well as lands under the jurisdiction of the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands. Among areas addressed in the 2006 Native Hawaiian Data Book are demographics (population and vital statistics), land holdings, education, health, human services, housing, economic development, and public safety.
