India: A Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping of slums across Mumbai city in India has revealed that there are 3,293 slum clusters spread over 36.45 sq km of land. The study was undertaken by the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) to enable slum rehabilitation with proper town planning norms. The authority will also map out civic infrastructure for rehabilitated areas keeping in mind the rest of the neighborhood infrastructure.
