U.S: Chester, Pennsylvanian county, plans to use GIS software to improve information sharing between police department, firefighters and paramedics.
Currently, the county has a number of maps with details of police stations, fire stations and ambulances. The new GIS software is aimed at integrating these maps. Once the platform is ready, all the information will be shared with 44 police departments, 57 fire departments and 23 ambulance companies in the Philadelphia area. The solution will provide 700 first responders with access to incidents, records and maps on laptops, tablets and smartphones. This will help emergency responders to allocate the right resources to the right place at the right time. The solution will be designed by Intergraph.
