GIS for Ghana’s land administration project

Ghana: New Land Administration Project (LAP) in Ghana should be integrated with GIS technology, Vice-President of the Ghana Institute of Planners, Prof. Sam Afranie, proposed.

The project seeks to lay the foundation for a self-sustaining land administration system. Prof. Afranie observed the system has not been developed so well in Ghana, but would be “introduced and installed” under the LAP for application in planning practices.

According to Prof. Afranie, Ghana Institute of Planners along with the planning department of Kwame Nkrumah University Of Science and Technology (KNUST) are developing a local system under the LAP.
