Lodging a complaint with the Delhi government health department in India is now just a mouse click away. A blind copy of every complaint will go to the principal secretary (health), and one can be rest assured of receiving a reply within three weeks, as laid down in the Right to Information Act.
The facility is available on the updated health department website, “health.delhigovt.nic.in.”. The website has been re-designed to include several dynamic features like the grievance redressal facility and a GIS-supported map info facility. The map info will enable the user to find out the hospital nearest to his/her residence.
In addition, the website also features a news flash where information will be given out regarding whatever is the raging health problem in the city. In the same way that public awareness inserts are flashed in the media to foster awareness, the website will give exhaustive information about the disease. For example, it is dengue season now, and the site will give information about the disease. Once internet connectivity is established in all the 33 Delhi government hospitals, the site will also give information about the status of department-wise bed availability in each of them.
