Mexico: Kansas City Southern de Mexico (KCSM) railroad, a company dedicated to freight transportation using rail in the North Eastern part of Mexico, signed an agreement with the University of Nuevo León (UANL) to develop a GIS-based map of rail network. KCSM will also use GPS technology for this mapping.

Representatives of KCSM and UANL agreed to recognise the value of combining the expertise and technology capabilities of academic and industrial sectors, which are key to Mexico’s transport and logistics platform development.
