Orbital ATK launches its eighth cargo mission to space

Orbital ATKUS: Orbital ATK’s barrel-shaped Cygnus cargo ship was launched atop an Antares rocket. It is packed with 7,400 pounds (3,350 kilograms) of food and supplies for the astronauts living at the International Space Station and took off from Wallops Island, Virginia.“Five, four, three, two, one and we have ignition,” said Orbital ATK’s mission control operator, as the rocket’s engines were launched. Indian Railways to use GPS-enabled fog safety devices to ensure safety

India: To ensure the timely running of trains during winter, the Railways has decided to use GPS-enabled fog safety devices in the trains to alert the loco pilot about approaching signals. A railway official told IANS, a news agency, that plans were afoot to use the GPS-based devices in trains that would provide advance warning. The official said that the Railways has provided about 2,400 of these devices in northern India where trains are worst-hit by intense fog during winter. He said 900 of these GPS devices … (Read More)
