Geospatial Park in Gujarat, India

Hyderabad, India: India’s first geospatial technology park will be set up in Gujarat. This was announced by Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi during Geospatial World Forum 2011 in Hyderabad. “Gujarat is ready to host India’s first geospatial tech park. We will provide all the facilities that the industry needs,” he said. He also invited GIS Development to host the next Geospatial World Forum in Gujarat.


Modi was at Geospatial World Forum 2011 to present the Geospatial Awards 2011 that have been instituted by GIS Development Pvt. Ltd for innovations, applications, policies and programmes in the geospatial domain. The Geospatial Industry has been evolving and maturing as one of the mainstream business having its own identity in world economy, made possible only by innovations and excellence brought forward by geospatial technology developers, professionals, end users and policy makers. Through Geospatial Awards, GIS Development aims to recognise and encourage such efforts for exemplary innovations and practices in geospatial industry.
