Portland, Oregon, USA, 11 May 2006 – GeoNorth announced the release of its newest product solution that provides a convenient way to author maps for ArcIMS. CartoPort allows users to publish their ArcGIS maps to ArcXML in seconds preserving cartography and settings such as scale dependency, layer visibility, transparency, text masking and group renderers just to name a few.
In the past, GIS users wanting to publish their ArcMap Documents to the web had to struggle with the replication of map cartography in the ArcIMS’s Author tool. There was simply no easy way to replicate work done in ArcMap to ArcIMS and at the same time retain performance and allow developers full access to data sources. CartoPort is an ArcGIS tool providing a radically simple process for publishing maps to ArcIMS ArcXML files.
CartoPort makes this easy, by interrogating an ArcMap Document and exporting the cartography and settings found in your MXD to an ArcXML file. Non-compliant data sources such as personal Geodatabases, CAD files, and ArcInfo Coverages are automatically excluded from the resulting AXL. Developed in .NET, CartoPort also features a “no touch” deployment.
