Geomatic Technologies and Australia

Melbourne, Australia, 13 November 2006 – Geomatic Technologies (GT) together with the Department of Infrastructure (DOI), Government of Australia, has won the Spatially Enabling Government Award at the Asia Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards (APSEA), held in Brisbane on the 9th of November 2006.

The Award was presented in recognition of the outstanding achievements of the Victorian Rail Infrastructure Survey and PASS Assets Project. The Project was recognised for providing a foundation whereby the DOI can implement its strategy of providing a holistic view of state-wide public transport, through access to accurate, field verified, comprehensive digital rail asset information through a single information portal.

In September the Project received the Victorian Government Spatial Excellence Award, the highest award presented at the Victorian Spatial Excellence Awards evening.

Another GT entry at the APSEA Awards, the Field Mobile Computing – Asset Inspection Project, in conjunction with Ergon Energy and SPARQ, received an Honourable Mention in the Industry and Entrepreneurship category.
