Atlanta, USA, October 25, 2006 – GeoFields, Inc. announced today that Jeffrey N. Amason has been appointed Vice President of Professional Services. Amason joins GeoFields with 18 years experience directing major construction, engineering and IT programs from concept to completion across multiple industries, including utilities (Duke Power), oil and gas (Colonial Pipeline), manufacturing and insurance.
As Vice President of Professional Services, Amason is charged with overseeing and directing personnel and programs focused on project management, data conversion and capture, software installation and upgrades, and application training.
Most recently, Amason served as program manager at Westfield Group where he directed all planning, budgeting and execution of data program activities within the IT group, managing six project managers and budgets to $15 million. He also served as project manager at Lucent Technologies where he was responsible for $10 million to $130 million plant construction projects. Over a five-year period at Colonial Pipeline, he served as project, engineering and then as operations manager where he co-directed the Atlanta Junction team of 25 and implemented enterprise initiatives.
Amason received his Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Akron Law School.
