GeoDecisions, a software independent geographic information system (GIS) and information technology (IT) consulting firm, is pleased to announce the company’s new officers. The company is currently composed of 14 offices that provide GIS and IT services to transportation, military, state and local government, and private/commercial markets.
Robert M. Scaer, P.E., has been named president. Scaer also serves as a vice president of Gannett Fleming, an international consulting engineering and construction management firm, and GeoDecisions’ parent company. Based in GeoDecisions’ corporate office in Harrisburg, Pa., Scaer is responsible for directing the firm’s operations nationwide. He holds a bachelor of science in civil engineering from Purdue University, and a Master of Science and master of business administration from The Pennsylvania State University. Scaer is a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania.
Donald J. Cole, has been named a vice president of local government solutions. He is based in the firm’s regional office in Newport News, Va.. Cole’s experience and leadership skills will focus and expand GeoDecisions’ service in the local government market. He manages and develops GIS operations corporately for state and local clients and is responsible for developing corporate business partner relationships and strategic alliances. Cole holds a bachelor of arts in geography, a bachelor of science in business administration, and a master of art in geography from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Connie L. Gurchiek has been named a vice president of transportation. Based in GeoDecisions’ Atlanta, Ga. office, Gurchiek markets and directs IT and GIS solutions for the transportation industry. She also provides direction and consulting services for ongoing planning and custom application design transportation projects. Gurchiek holds a bachelor of science in chemical engineering from Mississippi State University.
Anthony J. Pietropola has been named a vice president of business development. He oversees business development for the planning, design, implementation, and management of spatial-related information technology projects from the firm’s Harrisburg, Pa. office. Pietropola manages a national marketing effort that includes new and repeat business with state and federal government. He also maintains corporate partner relationships and strategic alliances. Pietropola holds a bachelor of arts in natural science from Edinboro University.
Jonathan Pollack has been named a vice president of advanced technologies. Based in the company’s Harrisburg, Pa. office, he manages and guides GeoDecisions’ technology direction and provides GIS and IT support to military, transportation, water resources, and environmental engineering operations. Pollack is a nationally recognized GIS, expert with an emphasis on Web-based solutions. He holds a bachelor of art in anthropology from Beloit College, and a master of art in anthropology and a master of science in soil science from The Pennsylvania State University.
