Longmont, USA, 29 January 2007 – DigitalGlobe, provider of the high-resolution imagery and geospatial information products, has announced that General Howell M. Estes III has been appointed to the DigitalGlobe Board of Directors, effective immediately.
General Estes will serve as a strategic guide in the defence and intelligence markets for the company as it continues its business development and growth strategy.

General Estes retired from the United States Air Force in 1998 after more than 30 years of service. He most recently served as commander-in-chief of the North American Aerospace Defense Command (CINCNORAD) and the United States Space Command (CINCSPACE), and commander of the Air Force Space Command (COMAFCPC).
General Estes holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Air Force Academy, a Master of Arts degree in public administration from Auburn University and is a graduate of the program for senior managers in government at Harvard’s JFK School of Government.
General Estes currently serves as president of Howell Estes & Associates, Inc., a consulting firm to CEOs, presidents and general managers of aerospace and telecommunications companies. He is currently chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federal Employee Support for CFC Charitable Giving, vice chairman of the board of trustees at The Aerospace Corporation, and president of the board of trustees of the Colorado Springs School.
