Vancouver, Canada, 26 April 2006: Galdos Systems Inc. has announced the signing of a contract for the development of a data registry with Shell International Exploration and Production B.V. (Shell). Shell has engaged Galdos’ Engineering Services department to develop an open standards based Coordinate Reference System (CRS) registry for deployment within Shell and the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (OGP).
The purpose of this development is to create a central, global access point for coordinate reference systems. Users will be able to acquire the most up to date CRSs from a single source. As a result oil and gas companies across the world will be able to access accurate data to manage better drilling and exploration projects.
According to Ron Lake, CEO of Galdos Systems Inc., “It is of great importance that Oil & Gas companies have access to a global and up to date database of CRSs.” He continued, “This kind of information enables Oil & Gas companies to improve their management of land assets, exploration and production projects.”
