Getting started with scripting in ArcGIS 9, a new live training seminar from ESRI Virtual Campus, focuses on how ArcGIS Desktop users can write geoprocessing scripts using Python. The seminar will be presented three times on Thursday, September 23, 2004, at 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 3:00 p.m. Pacific time. Seminar participants can learn what can be accomplished within the scripting environment through discussions that cover the Python scripting language, executing geoprocessing tools from a script, setting environment settings in a script, creating lists of data, describing data, performing row manipulation, and executing a script.
A broadband Internet connection and an ESRI Virtual Campus membership are required to view the seminar. Becoming a Virtual Campus member is free and only takes a few minutes. Following the live presentation, a recorded version of the seminar will be archived and available for unlimited free viewing at the Virtual Campus site. More information about this seminar, including instructions for attending and a schedule of upcoming seminars, is available at https://campus.esri.com/seminars.
