Flood maps of Chilean region to be developed

Chile: The Catholic University of the Holy Conception (UCSC) has signed an agreement with the Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service of the Navy (Shoa) to develop and update the flood maps of Biobío region in Chile.

Under the agreement, flood maps of the region will be developed and maps of regions already developed will be updated. Both the organisations will also exchange topographic information of the depth of sea surface.

The project will commence with the preparation of flood maps of the town of San Pedro de la Paz.
