Extra fund for surveying NCR lands in Sarawak

Mukah, Malaysia: Malaysian Federal Government provided an additional MYR60 million (MYR: Malaysian ringgit) for surveying native customary lands (NCR) in Sarawak, Natural Resources and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Dougles Uggah Embas said.

“After successfully surveying 30,000 hectares of land at a cost of MYR 20 million last year, the government has decided to set aside the additional allocation for the same purpose the next two years,” he said. The minister added that with the additional allocation, the Sarawak Land and Survey Department would be able to survey 300,000 – 400,000 hectares of NCR land.
