exeGesIS releases API for ArcSquirrel

UK: exeGesIS released an API for its innovative ArcSquirrel product. Since its launch in 2009, ArcSquirrel has been impressing GIS specialists with its ability to transform ESRI’s ArcView into an editing client for Microsoft SQL Server without the need for additional middleware or licensing. It has proven to be an easily implemented and highly cost- effective means of integrating spatial data into wider information management systems, says the company.

ArcSquirrel now includes an API that allows application developers to integrate its functionality into custom ArcGIS or ArcGIS Engine applications. The API is simple to use in both VBA and .Net applications. When combined with the ability to read/write directly to the underlying SQL Server database, this gives the ArcGIS application developer unprecedented power to create user-friendly and robust multi-user applications.

The API is provided at no extra cost, so long as each ArcSquirrel seat is licensed. Developers wishing to re-sell applications incorporating ArcSquirrel may obtain a value-added re-seller licence.
